Passed away peacefully at his home in Gooseberry Cove, Joseph Maxwell Smith aged 92. Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Delilah Smith; the brothers Arthur (Violet), Claude (Marilyn), Edwin (Mary), Jack (Freda); sisters Eliza (Graham) Cull, Ivy (Nicholas) Welsh, Dot Miller; brother-in-law John Peyton; and his son-in-law Randell Meadus. Left with good and loving memories his wife Emeline (Ninie) of 69 years. his daughters, Maxine (Raymond) Langor and Sylvia Meadus; grandchildren Scott (Robin), Raylene (Sterling); great-granddaughters Samantha and Abby; sister Janet Peyton, Stephenville; brother Clayton (Mary); many nephews and nieces, family and friends. The family would also like to thank their very special caregiver, Tina Avery, for all her help over the past few years. For the compassion and devotion to mom and dad, we are eternally grateful. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home Little Heart’s Ease on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Gooseberry Cove. Interment will follow at St. Alban’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Gooseberry Cove. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Alban’s Gooseberry Cove Anglican Church.
